NOTRE DAME, Ind. – After wrapping up the most successful season in Holy Cross baseball history, it was announced that two seniors have received All-CCAC Academic team recognition. Matt Rudorfer (SR/Farmington, Minn.) and Jackson Hallahan (SR/Lester Prairie, Minn.) were recognized for their success in the classroom as Holy Cross student-athletes.
To be recognized for the All-CCAC Academic team, student-athletes must maintain a grade point average of 3.25 and have at least 30 credit hours at their institution.
Rudorfer, a business major, wrapped up his senior season appearing in 17 games. He picked up one hit in six at-bats and finished with one steal. In his three years with the Saints, Rudorfer appeared in 64 games, made 13 starts and totaled six hits.
Hallahan, a business and communications major, wrapped up his senior year appearing in 53 games and making 50 starts. He finished fourth on the team with a .298 batting average and led the team with 31 walks. He leaves Holy Cross having appeared in 135 games while making 132 starts.
"It's a great honor for these guys to be recognized for their success in the classroom," head coach Brian Blondell stated. "They set great examples both on and off the field for our team and I couldn't be more proud of their success within our team."
The Saints wrapped up their 2014 season with a program-best 24 wins and a runner-up finish in the Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference (CCAC) postseason tournament.
