(Chicago, IL) The Eagles of Robert Morris University hit five 3-pointers to start the game and built a 7 point lead on the Saints in Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference (CCAC) play Wednesday evening.
Sophomore forward Adam Onderdonk (South Bend, IN) connected on two free-throws to give the Saints their only lead with 18:34 remaining in first half. Robert Morris regained the lead on the next possession and never gave it up. Shooting only 25% in the first half, the Saints trailed 42-24 at the break.
Holy Cross never got in a rhythm on the night, shooting 28.3% for the game. RMU shot 48.6% including 12-29 from behind the arc. Leading all scorers was Robert Jones of RMU with 16 points. Taylor Williams (South Bend, IN) led the Saints with 12 points and 6 rebounds. Andrew Tullis (Orland, IN) chipped in 10 points in 22 minutes of action.
Up next for the Saints is the University of St. Francis (IL) in another Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference match-up this Saturday. The Saints will look for their first conference win on the year. Tip-off is scheduled for 3pm in the McKenna Arena.
