The January athlete of the month is Baysia Cox (Niles, MI). Baysia is a 6-3 starting center for the women's basketball team.
During the month of January, Baysia has played terrific basketball against #2 Saint Xavier University, Robert Morris College, Rochester College, Purdue University Calumet, and Indiana University- South Bend. She totaled 81 points and pulled down 32 rebounds.
Against #2 St. Xavier, Baysia recorded a double-double with 18 points and 10 rebounds. She followed that performance by dropping in 24 points against Robert Morris. In the month of January, Baysia is averaging 17 points. She also ranks #23 in total blocks. She had a season high 4 blocks against Purdue-Calumet. Most recently Baysia recorded 22 points and 9 rebounds in a win over IU-Northwest. She also had four steals.

Baysia has unlimited potential on and off the court. When people talk to me about Baysia Cox it's more about Baysia Cox the person than the basketball player. In Baysia's short time on our campus she has started to build a legacy that will last a lifetime."
The Saints have five remaining games in the month of February, three of which are at home. They will be playing Robert Morris College on the 13th, Indiana University Northwest on the 16th, and Olivet Nazarene University on the 20th.
