Lights Out Shooting Leads Trojans Past Saints

Lindsey Steffen recorded a double-double with 10 points and 12 rebounds
(Upland, Ind.) The Trojans of Taylor University starting the game on a 22 - 4 run that lasted just over 5 minutes as they beat the Saints in a non-conference match-up.
This was the second meeting between the two schools this year. Earlier this season, Taylor University beat the Saints 75 - 63 on a neutral floor at the Sportone Shootout.
Despite causing 28 turnovers the Saints could not take advantage of the Trojan mistakes. As a team the Saints shot just 32% from the field and went 5-of-26 from behind the arc. Leading Holy Cross was Melissa Weston (Comstock Park, Mich.) with 11 points. Lindsey Steffen (Nappanee, Ind.) recorded another double-double with 10 points and 12 rebounds.
Leading the Trojans were Tess Rudolf with a team and game high 21 points and Becca Morris with 15 points. Taylor shot just over 52% from the field including 11-of-22 from behind the arc and improved to 6 - 3 on the year beating the Saints 79 - 62.
The Saints fall to 1 - 8 on the year and travel to Trinity Christian College on Wednesday, December 1st, for their first Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference (CCAC) game of the year. Tip-off is scheduled for 7:30pm.
