(Elgin, Illinois) The women's golf team played in the CCAC tournament this weekend at Highland Golf Course at Judson University.
Highland GC was a par 72 layout spanning 5,831 yards.
St. Francis stole the show, by taking the top three places overall en route to a twenty-eight stroke victory over second place Olivet Nazarene. St. Francis shot a two-day total of 677, or +101.
Holy Cross placed fifth with a total score of 784, or +208.
The Saints were paced by freshman Kelsie Skipper (Elkhart, Indiana) who lead the team by posting scores of 93 and 95, good for a total of 188 and a tie for 16th place.
Senior Regina Slonkosky (Minster, Ohio) placed solo 18th after rounds of 102 and 87, for a total of 189.
Freshman Claire Doriot (Syracuse, Indiana) posted 96-100, and sophomore Victoria Anania (Charleston, South Carolina) carded rounds of 106 and 105.
Despite the outcome, coach Tim Holt was pleased with the results, "Unfortunately we came up a bit short, but I'm really proud of the girls given the fact we only brought four players, and they knew their score was going to be counted no matter what."
The Saints close out the season next Sunday at the Ashford University Fall Invitational at Short Hills Country Club in East Moline, Illinois.
