(Notre Dame, Ind.) The Saints women's soccer team lost a tough match over NCAA Division III program Saint Mary's College on Tuesday night. Short handed for most of the game, the Saints kept fighting all 90 minutes with 10 of the 11 starters playing all 90 minutes.

Saint Mary's came out to a fast start controlling the offensive tempo throughout the first half. Junior goalkeeper Aileen Clouse (Beavercreek, Ohio) was kept busy throughout the half seeing 23 shots, and recording 11 saves. The Saints went into halftime trailing the Belles 4-0, and were outshot 23-6.

Throughout the second half the Saints were able to limit the Belles to only 2 goals after playing the majority of the half with only 10 players.

Senior captain Lindsey Swaim (Elkhart, Ind.) led the Saints with 3 shots on goal, and Aileen Clouse recorded 20 saves over the course of the game.

The Saints are off the remainder of the week, and will travel to Cedar Rapids, Iowa on Monday, September 10th to take on the Mustangs of Mount Mercy University. Their next home game will be Monday, September 17th at 4:00pm EST against the Saints of Aquinas College.
