Next up in Saints Basketball: The Saints open up the new year on the road against the Trojans of Trinity International University.
Last time out: The Saints closed out the first half of the season taking part in the 2012 Holiday Tournament hosted by Davenport University. Facing Marygrove on Dec. 28th, the Saints got out to an early lead and never let up. With their lead as high as 21-points late in the game, a 7-to-0 run by Marygrove closed out the game with a 64-50 win for Holy Cross. Lindsey Steffen turned in an impressive performance for the Saints recording a 21-point 13-rebound double-double. On Saturday, the Saints faced the tournament hosts Davenport University to close out 2012. The undefeated and fifth-ranked Panthers proved to be too much for the Saints as they fell 114-61.Lindsey Steffen (12), Megan Eve (12), and Maggie Gondeck (10) were the leading scorers for Holy Cross.

Head Coach Aimee Niespodziany: Coach Aimee is entering her 2nd season as head coach of the Saints coming off a programs best season where they won 10 games, including their 1st ever CCAC play-off game. Currently, the Saints are off to the best 17-game start in program history under Coach Niespodziany's leadership.
Series Note: Thursday's contest marks the seventh meeting between the two programs as well as the first meeting of the season. Trinity International currently holds a 5-1 series lead over the Saints winning the last five. Over the last two meetings, Lindsey Steffen has averaged 18.5 points-per-game and 10.5 rebounds-per game. Also over the last two meetings, Megan Eve has averaged 17 points-per-game.
Scouting TIU: Winners in their last three games the Trojans have scored an average of 100 points per game over the course of the winning streak. Diamond Richards and 2011-2012 CCAC Player of the Year Brittany Simon lead the Trojans in scoring on the year with 11.8 and 10.9 points per game respectively.
