Next up in Saints Hockey: The Saints will wrap up their current 4-game home stand this weekend with a series against the Eagles of Robert Morris University (White).

Recapping Last Week: Following their series split with Michigan State, the Saints returned home to host D'Youville College. Penalties helped keep the Spartans around in Friday night's matchup, as D'Youville cut the Saints lead to 7-6 in the third period. Freshman Nick Wink helped the Saints clinch a home victory late in the game after scoring an empty-net goal with less than a minute to play. The Saints defeated the Spartans 8-6 to get back in the win column. Saturday's matchup was an interesting one, as the Saints only held a 4-2 lead over the Spartans heading into the third period. Six third period goals guided the Saints to a dominant 10-3 victory, and series sweep, over the Spartans. Tommy Lyons (C), Drew Brodbeck (A) and Alex Haygood all had huge weekends for the Saints, compiling seven points each.

Head Coach T.J. Lyons: The third head coach in the history of the Saints hockey program, coach Lyons is off to a 5-1 start in his first season as  head coach.

All-Time vs. RMU White: This weekend marks the third and fourth times that the two programs will face-off. They previously met on Dec. 7 and Dec. 8 during the 2012-2013 season in Bensenville, Ill. where the Eagles swept the Saints by scores of 6-0 and 7-3. Drew Brodbeck (A) and Phil Abate scored the goals for the Saints in the 7-3 loss on Dec. 8. RMU hold a 2-0 series advantage.

Scouting the Eagles: Winners in their last two games, the Eagles are off to a 3-1 start under first year head coach Billy Karr. In their most recent series against Northern Illinois, the Eagles outscored the Huskies 27-3 in the weekend series. Dominick Rovito leads the team in assists (6), points (10) and tied for goals (4) with Vito Bruno. Andrew Poetzinger (2-1) has logged the most minutes between the pipes for the Ealges and has a goals against average of 2.91 while stopping 92% of  shots faced. RMU finished the 2012-2013 season ranked 13th in the North Division.

This and That: Senior Tommy Lyons (C) is the first three-time captain in Saints hockey history ... in his career, Lyons has amassed 122 career points (25g, 97a), the most all-time for a Saints defenseman ... he currently is off to a great start in his senior season with five goals and eight assists in the first six games ... the current senior class (2010-present) has amassed a record of 53-37-1 since they enrolled at Holy Cross in 2010, including a program-best 21-8 record during the 2010-2011 season ... Doni Gendel (A) is eight points shy of being the all-time points leader in the history of the program ... he trails only Tyler Schmatz (156, 08-13).
