The 2008- 09 Holy Cross men's hockey program has a new look this year. Head coach Phil O'Connell begins his tenure with the Saints and is looking to make a statement in the ACHA.

For the first time in Holy Cross hockey history, the Saints will be members of a conference. The Midwestern Collegiate Hockey Conference (MWCHC) is a new addition to division three hockey. The other members of the conference include Butler University, University of Akron, University of Louisville, Xavier, and five other schools throughout Ohio, Indiana, and Kentucky.

A heavy recruiting off-season brings new hope to this year's hockey team. "I am hoping to have a clean and fun year," says Coach Phil O'Connell "there is a lot of excitement and there should be some room to advance in our conference tournament." The MWCHC is still searching for a site to hold the first ever conference tournament, though the most likely location will be in Indianapolis sometime in late February.

The Saints plan to start off on the right track as they play six straight conference games to open up the season. The weekend of September 19th and 20th begins the season as the Saints open up with Delta College.
