Men's Basketball - Sun, Nov. 8, 2009
(Goshen, IN) The men's basketball team got all they could handle at the Maple City Hoopfest this weekend. The Saints played host Goshen College on Friday night and Cornerstone University Saturday afternoon.

Both Goshen and Cornerstone took advantage early on to put the Saints in an early deficit. On Friday Goshen took a 60 - 32 lead on 57% shooting in the first half. The Mapleleafs didn't let up in the second shooting lights out once again. Goshen eventually won the game 115 - 68. Justin Brevard led the Saints with 16 points. A balanced attack had 7 players in double digits for Goshen. Daniel Butler of Goshen led all scorers with 17 points.

Much like Friday night the Saints trailed early and could not get out of an early deficit. Cornerstone took a 24 point lead at half on nearly 43% shooting. The Saints continued to struggle, shooting just 26%. The Saints were able to get their offense moving in the second, but it wasn't enough as the Saints fell 98 - 61. Sophomore Brad Kendall recorded the first double - double of the season with 14 points and 10 rebounds. Justin Yoder of Cornerstone led all scorers with 19 points.
The Saints will be back in action Tuesday evening at Taylor University for a 7pm tip-off. This is the first ever meeting between the two schools.
