Elgin, Ill. – Holy Cross faced off with second-seeded Judson University late Saturday night where they were defeated, 14-5. The Saints fall to the bottom of the bracket now, but are still able to make the championship game with three more wins. The Saints are now 30-20 overall.
Trey Bickel started on the mound for the Saints, but was pulled in the first inning after giving up four earned runs through two-thirds innings. Jordan Hinton led the Saints on offense with two hits, two runs, and three RBI's.
Judson started the game quickly taking a 6-0 lead in the first two innings on six hits by the Eagles.
The Saints pulled one run back in the bottom of the fourth when Paul Kappaz hit a sac fly to score Zach Fozo.
As the Saints trailed 7-1 in the top of the sixth the Eagles extended their lead, 10-1. Hinton grabbed another run for the Saints with a solo shot home run in the bottom of the sixth inning.
The Saints wouldn't score again until the bottom of the ninth inning with three runs on two hits to take a 15-4 loss.
