(Calumet, IN) Despite a season high 81 points the men's basketball team came up short of a victory Wednesday night at Calumet College of St. Joseph.
The Saints took an early 3 point lead, but could not hold on as the Crimson Wave went on a 14 - 1 run to take an 11 point lead midway through the first half. The Saints trailed 57 - 46 at half.
The Saints kept it close for much of the second half and cut the St. Joseph lead to 5 at the 6:51 mark after J.T. Breveard knocked down a pair of free-throws. However, the Saints fell 100-81 for their fifth consecutive loss. Elliott Jones Jr. led all scorers with 27 points on 13 - 17 shooting. Breveard added 15 and Zac Cook chipped in 13 for the Saints. Keith Dean led St. Joe with 20 points and 9 rebounds.
The Saints (1-9) have a much needed rest and will travel to St. Xavier University on December 2nd for a Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference match-up. St. Xavier beat Holy Cross 94 - 74 on November 3rd, in the McKenna Arena.
