(Notre Dame, IN) Baysia Cox scored 25 and pulled down 10 rebounds but the Holy Cross Women's Basketball team fell short to Purdue - Calumet Saturday afternoon in the Pfeil Center.
The Peregrines jumped out to a 49 - 28 halftime lead on 22 - 41 shooting. The Saints shot 38% from the field and only 3 - 14 from behind the 3 - point arc. Purdue converted 15 points off turnovers and 28 points in the paint.
Purdue stretched their lead to 24 early in the second half, but the Saints battled back. Brittany Davis' jumper at the 2:07 mark pulled the Saints within 4. Both teams traded baskets late and the Peregrines held on to an 87 - 79 victory. The Saints shot 52% from the field in the second half and tallied 36 points from the paint.
Lindsey Swaim scored 18 and Tanesha Vanardo added 14 for the Saints (2-9). The Saints travel to Cardinal Stritch University on Dec. 2nd. They return home next Saturday to host NAIA DII #14 Indiana Wesleyan University. Tip-off is scheduled for 1pm.
