The 2009 Saints Lacrosse team looks to repeat the success it has had in the previous two years. The 2007 and 2008 teams both finished second in the annual MIAA tournament.
After winning the regular season conference title, the Saints fell to Hope College last year early in the tournament. "We are hoping to carry over the winning attitude to this years team" says first year Head Coach Mike Hodge. "With the growing popularity of the sport we have been able to find recruits from all over the country to complement our returning players."
The Lacrosse team was established in 2000 and was the first organized sport to play intercollegiate athletics at Holy Cross. Last year, the team expanded their schedule, including a road opener at Purdue. The Saints fell in overtime, but are looking to avenge the loss this upcoming year. The team finished 8-2 last year, and it was the third consecutive winning season for the Saints.
