(Notre Dame, IN) Jalisa Edwards and Alandrea Nailon led the Saints with 15 points each, but the Saints fell short to No. 5 Indiana Wesleyan (NAIA DII) at the McKenna Arena Saturday afternoon.
The Saints played tough defense in the first half keeping Wesleyan close. The Wildcats took a 41 - 32 lead into the half. The Saints shot 53.8% from behind the three point arc and nearly 49% from the field.
After trading baskets early in the second half the Saints managed to cut the Wildcat lead to four with 13:00 minutes remaining in the game. Wesleyan held off the Saints with an 8 - 0 run and held on for a 76 - 63 victory. Elaine Hessel led the Wildcats with 30 points. The Saints had four players in double figures.
The Saints will be back in action on Tuesday, December 8th at 5 pm. They host Trinity International University as part of a double header with the men's team. The game will be a BLACKOUT so be sure to wear your black HCC gear.
