South Bend, Ind. - It did not take long for freshman Natalia Campbell to make her presence felt on the golf course for the Saints. The Lapel High School graduate came out on fire in her first ever collegiate tournament. Campbell carded a 74 in the one round event held at Erskine Golf Course to finish first overall.
The Crosstown Clash featured the Saints, Saint Mary's College, and Bethel College. The Saints were led by Campbell's tournament low 74, followed by Kylie Day. The senior, Day, celebrated her 22nd birthday by shooting an 84. Freshman Jenna VandenBerg carded an 85 in her first collegiate tournament, with fellow freshman Maisie Nugent firing in an 89 on the day. Another freshman, Macenzie Lane, rounded out the Saints lineup with a 99, giving the Saints a 332 total for the Clash.
The Saints had four freshman in their five woman lineup today. The poise and maturity they showed on the course today was quite impressive, and shows the future of Saints golf is very strong. With senior leader Kylie Day also in the lineup, this Saints team will make a push to the top of the leaderboard in this fall's events.
