Notre Dame, Ind. - The #4 Saint Xavier Cougars came into the Pfeil Center Saturday afternoon and wasted no time proving their ranking. The Cougars jumped on the Saints from the opening minutes and never looked back to take a 110-62 victory back to Chicago. With the loss, the Saints fall to 8-16 overall, and 6-9 in Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference play. The #4 Cougars are now 21-2 on the season, and 13-2 in conference action.
The Saints were led by Jessica Norris who scored 15 points on 5-8 shooting from behind the arc. Keysha Streater scored 14 points and grabbed 6 rebounds, while Eryn Leek added 9 points on three triples. Tagin Schulthis led the team in rebounds with 10, while scoring all 7 of her points in the first half. Shana Anderson and Alex Forster scored 8 and 7 points, respectively.
The Cougars high-powered offense was led by Kara Krolicki who scored all of her game-high 20 points in the first half. Mikayla Leyden scored 19 points, dished out 9 assists, and recorded 7 steals in 25 minutes. Brittany Collins controlled the paint for Saint Xavier, scoring 16 points and recording 6 blocks.
The Saints will host the #1 ranked team in the nation, St. Francis (Ill), on Wednesaday at 5:30pm.
