Notre Dame, Ind. - The Holy Cross men's basketball team was unable to overcome an 11 point halftime deficit to win a key CCAC South Division game Saturday afternoon. The Saints fell to Purdue Northwest University 81-76, after rallying form down 10 points twice in the second half. The Saints fall to 13-15 overall, and 9-10 in the CCAC. The Pride are now 13-14 overall, and tied for first in the South at 11-8.
The Saints were led by Ja'Mare Washington who had another impressive outing scoring 21 points and grabbing 13 rebounds. Sophomore Ryan Lutz scored 17 points and grabbed 4 rebounds in 31 minutes. O'Brien Hobbs scored 15 points and dished out 3 assists, while Travon Bracket scored 11 points, grabbed 4 rebounds and recorded a team-high 3 steals. Nate Miller led the Saints in assists with 5 in the losing effort.
Holy Cross returns to action Wednesday against Calumet College of St. Joseph at 7:30pm. The Saints will honor seniors O'Brien Hobbs, Madison McCaffrey, and Brian Aldrich Wednesday prior to the start of the game.
