(Lima, OH) The Saints could not capitalize on an early 8 - 2 run over the University of Northwestern Ohio (UNOH) Wednesday evening.
The Racers used a 19 - 0 run lasting nearly 10 minutes midway through the first half to build a 13 point cushion. UNOH recorded 11 second chance points and 12 points off turnovers to take a 35 - 17 halftime lead.
The Saints could not close the gap in the second half and the Racers pulled away with a 75 - 53 victory. Holy Cross was outrebounded 61 - 35, and shot just over 30% for the game. The Saints were led by sophomore guard J.T. Breveard with 13 points. Zac Cook chipped in 11 points and 3 rebounds in 32 minutes of action. Josh Vorst of Northwestern Ohio led all scorers with 19 points.
The Saints will be back in action Saturday afternoon against Concordia University (MI) at 3pm in the McKenna Arena. There will be no gate fee for Saturday's game.
