The Holy Cross Men's Soccer Team and Head Coach Omar Gallo are pleased to release the 2017 Soccer Schedule. A tough non-conference schedule featuring top teams from the Crossroads League and the Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference will look to prepare the Saints for one of the nation's toughest conferences.
"Every year we try to make our non-conference schedule as difficult as possible in order to prepare ourselves for conference matches," Coach Gallo stated. "The Crossroads and WHAC are two of the better conferences nationally and playing top teams in their leagues will show us what we need to work on for CCAC action. I am excited to get our boys back on campus in August and begin to prepare for a successful 2017 campaign."
The Saints will begin the year with two scrimmages in mid-August against Grace College and junior college powerhouse Prairie State. Gallo and the squad will open up the regular season with three straight home games beginning August 19th with Marygrove University at 6:00pm. Holy Cross will then play host to Marian University and Michigan-Dearborn on August 24th and August 29th, respectively.
The men will then take on crosstown rival Bethel College in Indianapolis, Indiana on September 2nd before the Indy Eleven soccer match at Michael A. Carroll Stadium. The cost for tickets will be $12 for any alumni of Holy Cross and Bethel, or $16 for tickets to both games, including lounge access. In between the Saints game, there will be high school game to kick off youth soccer month, then Indy Eleven will take on the San Francisco Deltas. More information will be announced regarding that Saturday's activities in the fall.
On September 19th, Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference play begins with a trip to St. Xavier University, followed by another road game in Wisconsin against conference foe Cardinal Stritch University at 7:30pm.
The team will open up home conference play against Trinity International University at 2:30pm on September 27th, 2017 and continue with their homestretch the 30th against Saint Ambrose University.
Another important date to remember is Senior Day which will be October 28th at 2:30pm against Calumet College of St. Joseph.
