Southfield, MI. Men's soccer traveled to Lawrence Tech University Saturday, for a 1:00pm kickoff. Holy Cross fell to LTU by a score of 0-2. With the loss the Saints finish their non-conference season 4-2, and for the sixth straight year will enter conference with an above .500 record.
Both teams struggled to find their offense in the first half, and we entered halftime with a score of 0-0. Our defense remained strong for the beginning of the second half, but the Blue Devils were able to score a goals in the 55th and 64th minutes.
"We felt confident going into the match but when the whistle blew, we seemed to play into LTU's strengths and not ours. I thought their coach did a great job preparing them after their loss Friday. It's not the result we wanted heading into conference but I am still very proud of these guys," said Coach Gallo. "We were able to put together a strong non-conference this year and get some of our new guys valuable minutes, which we believe will prepare us for conference play."
Men's soccer opens up conference play when they host St. Xavier University Tuesday September 19 at 4:00pm.
