Notre Dame, IN. The Holy Cross College men's and women's basketball teams have partnered with Team Freeby to host an event in support of Mary Freeby. "Threes and Freebs" will be held Monday, October 2nd at 6:30pm in the Pfeil Center.
Holy Cross College senior, Mary Freeby, an education major from South Bend, Indiana was recently diagnosed with a rare blood disorder. Through the help of family and friends, Mary has found a donor and will begin treatment in Cincinnati this October.
Threes and Freebs will feature a men's and women's basketball preview, and also an alumni and intramural All-Star game. The evening will have a number of contests with prizes and is open to students, faculty, and the public. Chuck Freeby, Mary's father, will serve as the guest announcer for the night. Khalon Howard and Jaycob Beal will also be in attendance. Khalon is a young man that also had a bone marrow transplant a couple of years ago and survived. The first 100 people in attendance will receive a T-shirt commemorating the event. Donations are accepted and all proceeds will go to Team Freeby to help with medical expenses.
