(Notre Dame, IN) The 2010 Holy Cross Lacrosse schedule has been released. The Saints look to repeat their successes of a year ago. Entering their second year in the Great Lakes Lacrosse League, the Saints will compete in the South Division.

With many top returners and a couple of new faces the Saints are poised to make another run at the Championship. Last season the Saints fell just short to a University of Wisconsin team in the finals. "A 6-4 loss to the Badgers last season left a bad taste with a lot of our players," said second year Head Coach Mike Hodge. "The team has a lot of work to do before our first game, but I know everyone is up to the challenge."

Holy Cross opens the season at the Wisconsin Dells Chula Vista Resort Tournament February 20th- 21st. The season starts off with a re-match of last year's GLLL championship game against the Badgers of Wisconsin. The Saints will follow that with a game against University of North Dakota on February, 21st.

The Saints will also play Northern, Western, and Southern Illinois for the first time in program history. Off-season divisional shifts brought Benedictine University into the South Division. Last year the Saints opened the year with an 11-0 win at Benedictine. The regular season will come to an end on April 17th, when Holy Cross hosts divisional rival Loyola University and Lake Forest College. Loyola beat the Saints early in the year 7-6 in overtime, and captured the South Division crown.

2010 will bring another exciting year of lacrosse action to the athletic department as the Saints begin their quest for their first title in program history.
