(Berrien Springs, MI) Trailing by 4 at halftime the Holy Cross men's basketball struggled to keep pace with rival Andrews University. The Cardinals used 6 second half 3-pointers to hold off a late surge from the Saints.
Down by 12 with 4 minutes left in the game the Saints seemed to be done for after Andrew's Ryan Little hit his 5th 3-pointer in the second half. A quick timeout seemed to breathe life into the Saints as they put on a full court press and began to slowly chip away at the Cardinals lead. However, Andrews managed to hit key free-throws down the stretch to slip away with a 65 - 61 victory.
Andrew Tullis (Orland, IN) led the Saints with 19 points on 7 - 12 shooting. Taylor Williams (South Bend, IN) chipped in 13 points and Brad Kendall (Granger, IN) added 12 for the Saints. Ryan Little led all scorers with 30 including a perfect 8-for-8 from 3-point range. Both schools pulled down 29 rebounds, but Andrews managed 11 offensive boards to the Saints 8.
The two teams split the season series. The Saints won back on December 6th, 79 - 51. Holy Cross will be back in action this Saturday in the McKenna Arena at 3pm against Cardinal Stritch University.
