Rain Shortens Dupage Invitational
Men's Golf - Fri, Sep. 5, 2008
The rain was relentless throughout the day, causing problems for many of the golfers. The rain would also cause the invite to be shortened. Instead of playing a full 18 holes it was reduced to just 9. The Holy Cross golfers were on the 13th hole when play had been cancelled.
The Saints were able to score a 166 for a team total, which placed them in a three way tie for 5th place. Due to the tie breaker, the Saints finished 7th out of 16 teams. The University of St. Francis (1) took top honors with a team score of 159. Olivet Nazarene (2) placed second with a team score of 162. Tate Dugger of Olivet Nazarene (2) took the top individual score of 35.
The Saints top scorer was Tyler Kanczuzewski and Jake Baranek who each shot a 40 on the nine holes. The golf team will play next at the University of St. Francis Invitational on September 17th.
