Saints Leave 10 on Base; Fall to Grace

(Winona Lake, Ind.) The Grace College Lancers scored 10 runs on 13 hits to cruise past the Saints 10 - 1 Friday afternoon at Miller Field.
The Saints took an early 1 - 0 lead in the top half of the first, but the Lancers responded with 2 runs in the bottom of the first and 5 in the third. Catcher Danny Leicht (Indianapolis, Ind.) put together a good afternoon going 3-for-5 at the plate and scoring the lone run for the Saints. Holy Cross was unable to push anymore runs across the plate leaving 10 men on base.
Grace's Michael Clark, Josh Petry, and Brent Easterday each collected 2 hits and 2 RBI's on the day. Kier West recorded the win while Robert Jankowski (South Bend, Ind.) took the loss. Jankowski pitched three innings giving up 7 runs (4 earned) on 7 hits.
The Saints play their first home games on Friday, March 19th, at 2pm. Game two will follow approximately 30 minutes after game one. The Saints host Concordia University (Mich.) at Thomas Memorial Stadium in Niles, Mich.
