(Kendallville, Ind.) The Holy Cross men's golf team opened their spring 2010 season with an eighth place finish at the University of St. Francis Cougar Spring Invitational at Noble Hawk golf course.
St. Francis won the tournament with a 36 hole total of 626. Holy Cross tallied a 681 in the windy conditions. Tyler Alge fired rounds of 82-75 for a 157 total, good for 3rd place individually. Tyler Kanczuzewski had a 162 total for 17th place, Alex Malinowski shot a 180 total for 41st, and Andrew Thomas had a 184 total for 44th. Matt Adler had to WD the first day due to illness, but came back the second day with an 87.
On the ladies side, Regina Slonkosky had rounds of 97-88 for a 185 total, good for 22nd place. Bryan Elston of St. Francis led all scorers with a two day score of 150 shooting a 78 and 72 respectively. The Saints return to action April 12th, at the Benedictine University Bulldog Golf Spring Tournament.
