Saints Fall Short in Season Opener

(Chicago, Ill.) Despite outshooting the Archers 23 - 10, the Saints loss their opening season game 5 - 2 to Moody Bible Institute Saturday afternoon.
An early goal by sophomore striker Dan Killen (Brooklyn Park, Minn.) in the 7th minute gave the Saints an early 1 - 0 lead, but the Archers countered with 4 straight unanswered goals. Xavier Smart pulled the Saints within two in the 77th minute, but Archer forward T.J. Pierce added a late goal in the 82nd minute to stop any comeback for Holy Cross.
The Saints took 9 corner kicks to Moody's 1. Archer goalkeeper Ryan Pattison saved 10 in 90 minutes of play. Holy Cross will be back in action this Saturday, September 4th, at 6pm. The Saints host Madonna University at the Indiana Invaders Complex.
