(South Bend, Ind.) The men's golf team currently holds a one shot lead over Huntington University at the Battle at Blackthorn in South Bend.
In the 14 team event the Saints lead the pack shooting a first day score 281 putting them seven under par. The Saints lead is due in large part by Junior transfer Eric Hartstein's (South Bend, Ind.) 10 under 62 first round score. His 62 breaks the Holy Cross single round record of 69 which was set by Senior Tyler Alge (Huron, Ohio.) on Tuesday.
However, the thrill of the day came on the par three, 13th hole when Harstein hit his first career hole in one with an 8 iron. Tyler Alge, Matthew Code, and Mike Prior each shot a 1 over 73 on the day to help the Saints move into first place.
