(Ft. Wayne, Ind.) Led by senior Tyler Alge (Huron, Ohio.) the men's golf team brought home their second straight tournament victory Wednesday, at the USF 36 hole Invitational.
The par 72 Coyote Creek Golf Club has a yardage of 6,978. As a team the Saints shot a 26 over 602 in the two round event. Leading all scorers was Tyler Alge shooting a first round 76 and second round 71 for a 3 over par on the day. This is the third straight event in which a Holy Cross golfer has won the individual title.
Matthew Code (Ontario, Canada) took third overall shooting a two round score 149 putting him 5 over par. Rounding out the Saints was Eric Hartstein (South Bend, Ind.) with a 7 over 151, Mike Prior (Schoolcraft, Mich.) 11 over 155, and Andrew Thomas (South Bend, Ind.) with a two round score 170.
The Saints out shot host University of St. Francis (Ind.), Huntington University, and Spring Arbor University. St. Francis took second overall shooting a two round score of 608.
The Saints look to continue their best fall start in program history Friday, October 1st, at Trine University. Holy Cross will close out their fall schedule on October 4th and 5th, at Glenn Oaks Community College.
