The Holy Cross men's golf team competed in the New Balance Invitational. During the two day tournament, the Saints posted a team score of 630. The score was good enough to place them fourth out of eight teams.          Wheaton College was able to take top honors with a total score of 605. Travis Shooks of Grand Rapids CC, took top honors with a score of 146.
Saints golfer Tyler Alge from Huron, Ohio posted a 73 on day one and a 74 on day two. His two day score was 147 which put him in a tie for second place out of 49 individuals. Tyler was able to stay at the top of the field during the two days, and finished just one stroke behind the leader. "Tyler played very well both days," said Head Coach Ryan Gowen. "Despite having a triple bogey and 2 double bogeys in the first round, his 6 birdies were enough to put him in a tie for 2nd place."
The Saints were looking to improve in the second day. They shaved off 12 strokes from day one. Matt Adler led the Saints by shooting 9 strokes better in day two. "The team played well in round two shooting a 309, despite the cold, rainy, and wet conditions," said Coach Gowen. The Saints will finish their fall season at the Robert Morris College Invitational on Sunday October, 19th.
