Coming off a 75 - 72 win over Goshen College the Saints were also hoping to start their first winning streak of the season. Leading by as many as eight points in the first half, the Golden Eagles climbed back to tie the game at 34 before the end of the half.
The Eagles started the second half with a 9 - 0 run, but the Saints refused to go away and pulled within 1 point at the 13:05 mark after a three point shot by Malinowski. However, the Saints could not get any closer and the Golden Eagles held on to a 75 - 64 win.
Holy Cross turned the ball over 19 times compared to the Eagles 14. The Saints shot 30% from the field and only 20% from behind the arc. Lindsey Steffen (Goshen, Ind.) recorded a double-double with 14 points and 10 rebounds on the night.
The Saints (1-2) return home this Saturday, November 6th, against Concordia University. This will be their second straight opponent from the Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC). Tip-off is scheduled for 1pm inside the McKenna Arena.
