(Notre Dame, Ind.) In all three of the Saints previous games they found themselves in a hard fought battle. Saturday at the Pfeil Center wasn't any different as the Saints welcomed the Cardinals of Concordia University (Mich.).
The first half went back and forth with 7 different lead changes. The Saints led with 3:12 remaining in the half, but the Cardinals closed out the half with an 11 - 1 run to take a 40 - 32 lead. Holy Cross could not make a run at Concordia in the second half and the Cardinals went on to an 83 - 70 victory.
Lauren Malinowski (Dearborn Heights, Mich.) once again led the Saints with 19 points. Lindsey Steffen (Nappanee, Ind.) finished the day with 18 points, 7 rebounds, and 4 steals. Jillian DeLucia added 11 for the Saints. Concordia's Catherine Herriman led all scorers with 22 points including 5-of-12 from behind the 3-point line.
Holy Cross was held to just 1-of-8 from behind the arc and 17-of-30 from the free throw line. The Saints fall to 1 - 3 on the year and will return to action November 16th, against Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference (CCAC) DI opponent Robert Morris University.
