(South Bend, Ind.) After starting the season 1 - 5 the men's hockey team has reeled off seven straight wins to improve their record to 8 - 5 on the year. The Saints just completed a weekend sweep of Xavier University and Jackson Community College at the Ice Box.
Over the three games the Saints outscored their opponents 21 - 11 beating Xavier University on Friday, 7 - 6, and on Saturday 5 - 2. On Sunday the Saints defeated Jackson Community College (Mich.) 9 - 3.
On Friday night Brendon Gendel led the Saints with 2 goals, while Senior Goalkeeper Andrew Ebright faced 46 shots from the Musketeers. On Saturday it was Senior Jamie O'Conner leading the Saints with 2 goals while Brad Hajec faced 51 shots and only allowed 2 goals. Finally on Sunday the Saints exploded with 9 goals with six different players scoring for the Saints. Ebright led the Saints in goal facing 20 shots.
Holy Cross will be back in action this Friday and Saturday at the Ice Box as they host Denison University. The puck drops at 9:15pm on Friday night and 4pm on Saturday.
