(Notre Dame, Ind.) Jonathan Huizinga and the Trinity Christian Trolls ran rough shot over the Saints Wednesday evening in the McKenna Arena as both teams opened Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference (CCAC) play.
Huizinga finished with a game high 22 points on 6-of-7 shooting and 5 rebounds. The Trolls jumped out to an early 22 - 5 lead that the Saints could not come back from. After a buzzer beating half court shot by junior guard Justin Breveard (South Bend, Ind.) the Saints trailed by 14 at the half.
However, the Saints did not get any closer and trailed by as many as 30 in the second half. Trinity improves to 5 - 5 on the year and 1 - 0 in the conference with an 85 - 59 conference victory. The Saints continue to struggle as they fall to 0 - 11 on the year and 0 - 1 in conference.
Breveard led the Saints with 18 points on the night. Zac Cook chipped in 14 points on 4-of-8 shooting from behind the arc. The Saints will be back in action this Saturday, December 4th, as they travel to Judson University. The Eagles are currently 5 - 4 on the year and 1 - 0 in conference play.
