(South Bend, Ind.) Megan Eve (Scottsburg, Ind.), Lindsey Steffen (Nappanee, Ind.), and Lauren Malinowski (Dearborn Heights, Mich.) each scored in double figures for the Saints, but it wasn't enough against crosstown foe Indiana University South Bend.
      
Megan Eve led the Saints with 17 points on 6-of-8 shooting including 5-of-7 from behind the arc. Steffen and Malinowski each chipped in 13 points for the Saints. Holy Cross shot 38.7% from the field and 31.7% from three point range.
 
Leading by as many as 5 points early in the second half the Saints could not hold on as the Titans used a 9 - 3 run after a timeout to regain the lead. The two teams traded baskets throughout but it was IU-South Bend holding on for a 71-66 non-conference victory.
 
IUSB's Kate Hacker recorded a double-double for theTitans with a game high 22 points and 12 rebounds. Betsy Grogan added 12 for the Titans.
 
The Saints were out rebounded 38-19 and the Titans connected on 27-of-31 from the free-throw line. Holy Cross went 5-of-9 from the charity stripe.
 
The Saints will return to Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference (CCAC) play this Saturday as they travel to Cardinal Stritch University (Wis.). The Wolves are currently 3-0 in the CCAC and ranked #21 according to the latest NAIA coaches poll.
