Wolves Dominate Saints in Conference Game
Men's Basketball - Fri, Jan. 7, 2011
(Milwaukee, Wis.) The Wolves of Cardinal Stritch University opened up with a 12 - 4 run and never looked back as they dominated the Saints 73 - 48 in Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference (CCAC) play.
Originally scheduled on Saturday, the game was moved due to the record setting snow amounts that fell in the South Bend area. Holy Cross will now play 3 games in six days all of which are CCAC games.
The Saints were led by junior forward Taylor Williams (South Bend, Ind.) with 15 points and 9 rebounds. Justin Breveard (South Bend, Ind.) was the only other Saint to record double digit points with 11.
Looking for their third straight conference win the Saints could not stop the hot shooting Wolves. Stritch shot nearly 52% from the field in the first half and shot just under 44% for the game. Brandon D'Amico led the Wolves with 15 points.
The Saints were outrebounded 41 - 33 and outscored in the paint 38 - 2. Cardinal Stritch also received 36 points from their bench to the Saints 14.
Holy Cross falls to 2 - 16 on the year and 2 - 3 in the CCAC. The Saints will travel to Calumet College of St. Joseph this Wednesday for another conference game.
