(Notre Dame, Ind.) The Holy Cross College Saints welcomed the Fighting Saints of St. Francis Wednesday night in a non-conference match-up in the Pfeil Center. St. Francis is a member of the Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference (CCAC) DI.

St. Francis opened the game with an 8 - 0 run that set the tone for the night. The Saints cut the lead to 4 with 13:22 remaining in the first half, but that was as close as Holy Cross would get. St. Francis closed out the game with an 85 - 72 road win and improve their record to 14 - 4.

"Starting the game off down 8 points is hard to overcome against any team," said Head Coach Bob Schermerhorn. "St. Francis did a nice job on offensively, we did not have an answer for their big men."

As a team the Saints shot 47% from the field, however St. Francis shot 57% from the field including 7-of-14 from behind the arc. Holy Cross was outrebounded 33 - 23 on the night and the USF bench contributed 40 points to the Saints 17.

The loss drops the Saints to 2 - 19 on the year. Taylor Williams (South Bend, Ind.) led all scorers with 25 points including 9-of-11 from the charity stripe. Justin Breveard (South Bend, Ind.) chipped in 17. Leading St. Francis was Andrew Fair with 21 points on 8-of-8 shooting from the field.

Holy Cross will concluded their 3 game home stretch this Saturday at 7:30pm as the Saints host cross-town rival Indiana University - South Bend. IUSB is currently 6 - 12 on the year. This is the first and only meeting between the two schools this year.
