Saints End Season with Shutout Victory Over RMU

(Notre Dame, Ind.) The Holy Cross Hockey program finished 2010-11 with a program best 21 wins including winning 8 out of their last 9 games.
This past Friday the Saints concluded their regular season with a 9-0 shutout against Robert Morris University at the Ice Box. The victory over the Eagles concluded a season sweep and set the mark for most wins in a season.
Playing in their final game, senior's Jamie O'Conner (Carmel, Ind.), Andrew Ebright (Ypsilanti, Mich.), and Ty Robbins (Granger, Ind.) were all honored. O'Conner recorded a hat trick with goals in every period. Ebright finished his Holy Cross career in the net recording his second shutout of the season. Robbins picked up his 24th point of the year assisting O'Conner's goal in the second period.
Point's leader Mitch MacLeod (Spring Lake, Mich.) finished the season with two goals giving him 57 points on the year. Freshman Brendon Gendel (South Bend, Ind.) netted two goals in the third period to give him a team leading 30 goals on the year.
Currently sitting 16th in the North Division polls, the Saints received votes for the first time in program history. The Saints will look to break into the top 15 next season as 4 out of the 5 players that recorded the most points were underclassmen this year.
