(Syracuse, Ind.) Logan Hatfield signed a letter of intent Thursday afternoon at Wawasee High School to play basketball for Head Coach Bob Schermerhorn and the Saints next fall.
Hatfield was a three year varsity player for the Warrior's. Through 16 games this year the 6'0'' guard is averaging 10.6 points per game and is shooting just under 35% from behind the arc.
"Overall I think that Holy Cross has everything that I am looking for in a school and a basketball team," said Hatfield. "I felt so welcomed by everyone there and I think that the program is going to be a perfect fit for me. This school has everything I am looking for academically and athletically."
Logan has helped lead his team to an 11-5 record this year and was part of the Wawasee team that won sectionals in 2010. He has also won the team "Preparation Award" three years running.
"I look forward to working with Logan next season," said Head Coach Bob Schermerhorn. "I believe that he is a good fit for Holy Cross and will be successful on and off the court during the next 4 years.
Hatfield is the first player to sign with the Saints basketball program for the 2011-12 season. The Saints finish their 2010-11 regular season Saturday at Trinity International University. Tip-off is scheduled for 8:30pm (est).
