(Notre Dame, Ind.) After a heartbreaking 10th inning loss to Goshen College on Wednesday afternoon the Saints will open their home and conference schedule Friday at Thomas Memorial Stadium in Niles, Mich.

On Wednesday the Saints exploded for 9 runs including a pair of homeruns from Ryan Trosko and a third homerun on the day from Jordan Schock. Scoring 4 times in the top of the ninth the Saints were able to tie the game and force extra innings.

However, the Saints were unable to capitalize on a Jordan Schock double to right field in the top of the 10th. Robert Jankowski was able to retire the first two Goshen batters in the bottom of the 10th, but a walk to Taylor Jergens followed by a Corey Johnson double gave the Maple Leafs a 10-9 walk-off win.

The Saints dropped to 1-6 on the year and will now turn to conference play this weekend. The Saints host St. Francis (IL) Friday at 4pm and will travel to St. Francis on Saturday for an afternoon double header.

Holy Cross will return home for a double header on Tuesday, March 22nd, in a Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference (CCAC) match-up as they host Cardinal Stritch University. First pitch is set for 2pm.
