(Niles, Mich.) Niles High School golfer, Christopher Noble has signed with the Holy Cross men's golf team for the upcoming 2011-12 season.
While a member of the Viking golf team, Noble won numerous awards throughout his high school career. The three time captain and letterman was named to the All -State Team and All - Academic Team twice as well as a 2 time Regional Champion in 2009 and 2010. During the 2010 season, Noble was the District Champion.
In 2010, Noble won 7 tournaments and finished 8th out of 65 players at the USGA Boys Junior Amateur Qualifier which was held at Cascade Hills Country Club in Grand Rapids, Mich.
Noble has excelled on the course as well as the classroom. He received the Roy Brawley Golf Award for excellence in golf and the classroom in 2009 and 2010. In 2010, he was presented with the Steven N. Tyler Award for his outstanding performances in golf and the classroom as well as becoming a National Honor Society inductee.
"I'm very excited to have Chris be a part of the men's golf team this fall," said Head Coach Tim Holt. "We made a lot of strides this season and Chris will be a big reason that we're able to take the next step and win the CCAC conference and advance to the NAIA National Championships next year in Oregon."
This past spring the Saints finished in second place at the Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference championships behind University of St. Francis (Ill.). Holy Cross finished in the top three spots in 9 of the 10 tournaments during the 2010-11 season.
