(Notre Dame, Indiana) The Holy Cross women's basketball team played its first exhibition event of the year against Lake Michigan College.
The Saints tipped off the 2011-12 campaign Tuesday night at the Pfeil Center in an exhibtion match against the visiting Indians of LMC. There was a very nice crowd on hand for the game, which was treated to a fast-paced and exciting contest.
The game also marked head coach Aimee Litka's first game at Holy Cross. "I was happy with the effort our girls gave and the fact we can take some positives from the game and build on them during the course of the season. "
Holy Cross played hard but ultimately fell to the Indians 79-68. The Saints were lead by Lauren Malinowski's (Dearborn Heights, Michigan) 24 points. The Saints have another exhibition event October 21st at arch-rival Bethel College at 7:00 leading into the first regular-season game scheduled for October 26th at 7:00 PM against Grace College.
