(East Moline, Illinois) The women's golf team traveled to East Moline, Illinois October 17th and 18th for a two-day event hosted by Ashford University.
Battling windy conditions and cooler temperatures, the Saints teed it up at Short Hills Country Club, a track measuring 5,832 yards with a par of 72.
Holy Cross placed fourth in the tournament, after a strong showing from freshman Lexie Price (Orange County, California) who posted a score of 165 (82-83), good for second place individually. Kelsie Skipper, a freshman from Elkhart, Indiana, tied for 13th overall with scores of 96 & 103 for a total of 199.
Freshman Claire Doriot (Syracuse, Indiana) shot 206, sophomore Victoria Anania (Charleston, South Carolina) shot 209, and freshman Lauren Smith (Muskegon, Michigan) shot 212.
Bellevue University won the event with a total team score of 695, besting Mt. Mercy University, Ashford University, and Holy Cross, who shot 770. The Saints now head into the winter after completing the fall season.
The Saints made major improvements this year, and also gained lots of experience which can help them come spring. "I was happy to see the progression of the younger players this fall," said head coach Tim Holt, "Hopefully we can build on what we have and have a strong spring season."
