(Notre Dame, Indiana) Four Saints scored in double-figures, but it was not enough to contain the high-octane offense of the visiting RMU Eagles Wednesday night at the Pfeil Center.

Megan Eve (Scottsburg, Indiana), Lauren Malinowski (Dearborn Heights, Michigan) Lindsey Steffen (Nappanee, Indiana), and Shelbi Westerhouse (Valparaiso, Indiana) all scored in double digits Wednesday night, but it was not enough to hold back the explosive Eagles of Robert Morris University.

RMU took control of the game from the opening tip, and scored the game's first 7 points en route to a 51-23 halftime lead. The Saints turned the ball over 34 times from intense pressure by the Eagles, and struggled to find open shots. RMU jumped out to a sizable first half lead courtesy of their 56% shooting from the field, compared to Holy Cross' 23%.

The Saints threatened to climb back into contention during the second half, scoring on multiple possessions and keeping alive with their 3-pointers. Megan Eve hit 5 of her 10 3-point attempts and led the Saints in scoring with 18 points.

Lindsey Steffen scored the first 6 points of the game for the Saints, and finished with 11. Steffen also recorded 7 rebounds, 6 steals, and 4 assists, but also had 8 turnovers. Shelbi Westerhouse added 11 points and 6 rebounds. Junior Lauren Malinowski scored 12 points and had 5 rebounds and 4 assists. Freshman Maggie Gondeck (Michigan City, Indiana) got the start tonight and grabbed 10 boards and scored 5 points.

RMU's Celeste Jones made 7 of her 8 3-point attempts, and led all scorers with 22 points. Uniqua Hampton had a double-double with 15 points and 10 rebounds for the Eagles, and Mary Colon had 12.

The Eagles improve to 5-0 on the year, and the Saints drop to 1-6. The road ahead does not get much easier, as the Saints now travel to visit St. Xavier University November 22nd at 6:00PM.
