Men's Basketball - Wed, Nov. 30, 2011
(Palos Heights, Illinois) The men's basketball team opened up their CCAC play Wednesday night against the Trolls of Trinity Christian College.

The Saints (2-6), fresh off a big win over cross town rival IUSB last Saturday, were looking to the keep the momentum going as they began their conference contests.

The Saints were lead by senior Taylor Williams (South Bend, Indiana), who had yet another double-double, this time to the tune of 25 points and 14 rebounds. Williams also recorded 3 blocks, and his 25 points led all scorers. Junior workhorse Yama Kader (Mission Viejo, California) added 23 points in 37 minutes of action.

The Saints played hard on both ends of the floor and shot 39% from the floor, but could not overcome TCC's trifecta of B.J. Wortham, Matt Buren, and Mike Taylor, who combined for two double-doubles, 55 points, 27 rebounds, and 5 assists.

"It's frustrating when we play well but do not get the W", stated head coach Bob Schermerhorn after the game, "We have all the tools, we just haven't figured out how to use them all together yet."

The Saints trailed 38-34 at the half, but could not sustain a run to topple the Trolls, who held on for a 79-72 victory.

The Saints continue their CCAC slate Saturday afternoon at 3:00 PM against Judson University.

Students are encouraged to take part in "Blacking out the Pfeil", by wearing black attire and cheering on the Saints from the upstairs' 'Halo' a.k.a. track.
