(Mishawaka, Indiana) The opening round of the annual Bethel College Tournament saw the Saints face the #3 Panthers of Davenport University. This was the first meeting between the Saints and the Panthers.

Davenport was coming into the contest after breaking its school record for consecutive wins (11), after defeating Sienna Heights by 43 points, 104-61. DU is a member of the Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC), and is a regular championship contender.

The Saints jumped out ahead early, taking small leads of 4 and 5 points courtesy of junior Yama Kader (Mission Viejo, California), who supplied a considerable amount of the Saints offense.

DU tied the game at 17-17 midway through the opening period, and took a halftime lead of 45-31 into the locker room. The second half was more of a continuation of the first half, as the Panthers outscored the Saints 60-26 in the second period and rolled to a 105-57 victory. The Panthers had four players in double figures.

Holy Cross was lead by Yama Kader, who scored 15 points in just 19 minutes of action. Darrell McIntyre (Indianapolis, Indiana) scored a career-high 14 points, and pulled down 3 boards during the game. Senior Taylor Williams (South Bend, Indiana), chipped in 9 points and 4 rebounds.

The loss drops the Saints to a record of 2-8.
