The men's basketball team traveled north to take on fellow Association of Independent Institution (AII) Marygrove College. The Mustangs beat the Saints 93 - 74 this past January at the Pfeil Center.
The Mustangs jumped out early with a 19 - 0 run to start the game. Down by 27 the Saints tried to climb back late in the first half with a 17 - 7 run. Marygrove overpowered the Saints pulling down 60 rebounds and shooting nearly 50% from the field. The Mustangs won convincingly 113 - 70. Three players recorded double - doubles, and all five starters scored in double digits for the Mustangs. The Saints were led by sophomore Mark Wilkins (Chicago, IL) with 15 points and 6 rebounds.
The Saints will end their regular season at home Saturday, February 21st against Indiana University Northwest. Both Marygrove and Indiana Northwest will be competing in the inaugural Association of Independent Institutions tournament on February 26th and 27th.
