Holy Cross - Tue, Feb. 28, 2012
(Notre Dame, IN) Only a few months removed from his triumphant return to Notre Dame Stadium last fall, Louis Leo "Skip" Holtz will be back to celebrate Parent and Alumni Weekend at his alma mater, Holy Cross College.
One of the college's most well known alums, Holtz will join Holy Cross College President Brother John R. Paige, C.S.C as the featured speaker for the Ave Crux Dinner on Saturday March 31st. Cocktails begin at 6:30 p.m. with dinner to follow at 7:00 p.m.
Skip Holtz graduated from Holy Cross College in 1984, and then went on to play a year of football at the University of Notre Dame. With coaching in his blood, Holtz began his career as an assistant at Notre Dame before going on to be a head coach in his own right at the University of Connecticut, East Carolina University, and most recently at the University of South Florida. In his first season at USF, Holtz led the Bulls to an eight-win season and 31-26 victory over Clemson in the 2010 Meineke Car Care Bowl. The following year, Holtz brought USF into Notre Dame Stadium and left with a shocking 23-20 win over the 16th ranked Irish.
