Saints Win in Extra Innings against Purdue North Central

(Notre Dame, IN) Holy Cross had their first conference game today against the visiting Panthers of Purdue North Central.
It took ten innings and a saavy bunt single by sophomore Jackson Hallahan (Silver Lake, MN), but the Saints squeeked out their first conference win of the season beating the Panthers of Purdue North Central 8-7 in ten innings today.
Freshman Paul Kappaz (Gross Pointe, MI) had his best game of the season going 3-5 with 2 runs batted in on the day. Hallahan also had a great day at the plate from his leadoff position going 3-5 with the game winning rbi of the day. Freshman Gio Ayala (Miami, FL) had another stellar outing going 2-5 with 2 runs batted in as well.
Senior Patrick Huyge (Grand Haven, MI) started the game and pitched five and two thirds innings finishing the game with a no decision allowing six hits and 6 earned runs on the evening. Freshman Pat Gullickson (Chanhassen, MN) got his first win of the season in relief, and the Saints improved to 3-11 on the season.
The Saints are now 3-11 on the season and 1-0 on in the CCAC. They play Purdue North Central tomorrow at Purdue North Central in a double header. First pitch is scheduled for 1:00 p.m.
